Just talked to the creditor who made a ruling against me a few years ago. Now that the debt is settled, they agreed to notify the CRA that account “paid as agreed.”

Because it´s an accepted practice made less acceptable by people like you willing to stick up for themselves and not take cr.p.

Reply:Texaslawyer – I thought the plaintiff had the ability to help the consumer for a dissmisal, well to at least let a dismissal go through, should a consumer seek it. Or is this totally out of the hands of the plaintiff once filed.
The reason I say this, is that there are cuircumstances I am sure, where a plaintiff would find for what ever reason a point where they needed to take back a judgment (don't mean release) but to get retracted all together.
I know I have seen others post reference to this before being done.
I can't imagine there not being a back up feature on the court side of things to drop these things. Cause the CRAs will not remove due to release or satisfaction this I know. But if dismissed then yes, it comes off of the credit report.

Reply:A judgment cannot be "dismissed." Instead, you receive a release of judgment. Whether the judgment remains on the bureau and how it is reported are separate issues.

Yup, the creditor put the judgement there, they have the power to remove it if they deem so for what ever reason (well if you can negotiate a reason to be in their best interest). ![]()

Reply:I have had a judgement removed by disputing it….Dispute that thing now
and maybe they won't be able to verify it in 30 days…. If you dispute right now
maybe the conflicting info that is about to occur will cause it to be deleted..
you have nothing to loose….you can always settle for a paid as agreed..
Even worse case if it gets marked paided as agreed then you can dispute
that and odds are you will get it deleted.

Reply:Yes….the creditor said that she would have the judgement dismissed at the court house (she's is right next door to the court house) and also send a letter to the CRA to have any derogatory information removed from my CR.

You don't get updates for as agreed on judgement listings, only satisfied and that is not the greatest – since it will still be on the credit report for 7 years from the file date.
On the actual tradeline reported by them that is great, to have as agreed.
But what about the judgement – are they going back to court house to have this dismissed for you? That is what you want to find out for sure.
