I received a summons for credit card debt.I believe that a default sentence was already living in New York state.The creditor.I forgive debt is mine, and I owe money.The sentence was filed in the wrong county.It brought into a country, the next mine.This is hard to explain, but . My legal address is a city in the county it is handed in. But we live just over the county line in the next county. It is very confusing and I understand how they got wrong.This mixup happened before with a jury summons county.What in the wrong should I do about it.

Contact the "wrong county" tax office. Does this county have a tax return? If so, file an amendment for a refund. If they do not have a tax return, find out how to request a refund directly from the county.
You have to pay taxes on the current county regardless.

Reply:Call teh court clerk to see if anything has been filed. Ask if a judgment was enterd and when. If not, ask for teh index number. You may still be able to fend this off. When was the last time you paid this? And who isbeing sued, one or both of you?

Reply:If it is your legal address then they didn't get it wrong and it wasn't a mixup. Why do you think a default judgment has already been entered if you were just recently served with a Summons? Did you mean to say you received a Notice of Default Judgment?
