Your question is a bit long winded but I can just about get what you’re on about.
Do you have witnesses to the damage taking place or was it just the 3 of you there?
If it was just the 3 of you then it's their word against yours, if there were witnesses then ask them to verify your version of events, but you could also take a detailed report of all your gripes with them and present it to your boss as a formal complaint, your boss will have to give you some credit for this, include in it that you have been mistreated by them and give examples like you have in your question but go into more detail. Their lies will catch them out eventually and hopefully you will have the last laugh.

Don't get me wrong, I know where you are coming from.
However, you can imagine what I think of my last "lawyer" who took thousands away from me, then refused to take my phone calls.
I am merely using the forum to supplement my case.

Reply:You need a lawyer
In the state where you currently reside only a lawyer can answer all your questions adequately
a lawyer should certainly be able to help you with the motions and service issues as well as researching the credit laws relative to the state where you live, you need to be affirmative and agressive in your actions, the CA was able to sneak up on you becvause you weren't paying close enough attention and they've very nearly got a judgement on you (legal or not) because you weren't on this issue.
Most CA's win 99% of their judgement's because the debtor is running scared or is just unwilling to hire a lawyer believing they can afford the judgement more than the lawyer.

Reply:thanks all, I am going to keep this duplicate post so long as administration allows me to…
Here is where I am at:
1) I am being sued in VA
2) I filed a motion to quash for improper service, because it turns out they posted a notice of service at my old address….
3) I then asked the clerk to mail me a copy of the lawsuit, so that it may not constitute improper service.
These posts are good, and are triggering me to ask some questions:
The summons just has a date to appear in court. The summons has no indication that I must answer in "x" days.
So:
1) Must I file an answer?
2) May I file an answer?
3) It seems that I have to appear in court if I file a motion e.g. the motion to quash for improper service. Is that the case?
4) How do I determine when I need to appear in court?
5) Do I need to appear in court sooner than the court date if I file an answer?
6) Could I get hit with a summary judgment if I don't answer and show up in court? Clerk says no.
7) Why would I want to swap jurisdiction back to Florida? That sounds very interesting!
Thanks again!!
When Collectors Call…
Reply:Hmmm, I would go to the court and look at the file. They have to have proof of service. I would see what that said. No matter what, it is easier to fight before a judgment than after. Go find out what it was about and get back to us with the details.

Reply:I'm not familiar with the RCP in either state so check with local counsel.
You can file motions challenging jurisdiction as well as forum. FL is obviously an inconvenient forum as you now reside in VA. Courts will usually always grant such a motion in civil cases, but it needs to written in a manner that addresses their claim of proper venue with particularity.
