I received a letter back in 2007 from a collection / law firm. I immediately replied to the letter certified with a debt validation letter in 7.12. I have always sent all the records a few weeks, the same law firm to me a letter that I owed the money with copies of statements from the original credit card account with Capital One. December 6th, 2011 admin Reply:I didn't ready ANY part of the thread other than the first couple of paragraphs, however, IMO if you can find ANY little violation… reporting different amounts to the CRA's, late pays, listing the CA as an installment account, etc. You would legally have grounds for a suit and if you write up a good complaint and send it the the DF with an ITS you may be able to pressure a delete so they don't have to go to court over a paid debt.
